Listen to Your Calling

What in your life is calling you?
When all the noise is silenced,
the meetings adjourned,
the lists laid aside,
and the wild iris blooms by itself
in the dark forest,
what still pulls on your soul?

In the silence between your heartbeats
hides a summons.
Do you hear it?
Name it, if you must,
or leave it forever nameless,
but why pretend it is not there?

THE CALLING

What in your life is calling you?

My central goal is to help you transform your life so that everything you do comes from a place that reflects your true calling in life. I believe that we are all given certain gifts and potentials to fulfill our lives. That means fulfill our lives personally and professionally. In fact, I know that there is no difference between our personal and professional lives. They both reflect in some way who we truly are and what we truly want in our lives. And when your personal and professional life does not reflect that, or does not come from that place that is your true self, then you experience profound conflict or disappointment, or discouragement, in your life. Coming together here means bringing all your parts and interests together in some way that fulfills your life and your true self, your true destiny.

Doing this type and level of work with you is how I fulfill my life, my true self, my destiny. For me, it is essential for me and for all of us to live our lives from a place that is true to our self. If that is what you want then contracting me to help you do that is what you want from me. For a deep and lasting transformation in your life, this is the work for you. It does not come easily and does not come quickly.

There is no magic pill here that will get you to your true self. This level of work requires a six month commitment. We have been creating barriers, defenses, protectors, schemas, call it what you like, that keep us from accessing our true self, what we truly want and what our purpose is in this life. So, it takes work, committed work, in order to transform the way you relate to yourself, and then, ultimately, relate to others and the world around you. You will come to know yourself in a different way. Once this happens you cannot help but continue to change your life in ways that reflect and fulfill what you have come to know about yourself, your true self.

I use various methods to help you come to this place within yourself. The journey begins by coming to know yourself, by going insider yourself. I give you ways to do this, and ways to then begin to access your true self more and more in your life. That is my goal and my purpose in this work with you. While this is very simple, it is not necessarily easy. The methods I use vary greatly. I bring in all my years of training and experience in using various modalities to help you come to know yourself. Those methods include my training in various approaches to psychology, coaching, and spirituality. These are methods I have used personally and have come to value their contributions, or portions of their contributions, to helping me achieve the goals and fulfillment in my life.

Working on developing your ability and skills to listen to your calling is a particular package that I offer to individuals. This is appropriate for individuals wanting to initially focus on personal, interpersonal, or professional concerns or challenges in their life. It is focused and it requires a commitment. Be challenged to transform your life, to transform the way you are in your life.

THE LISTENING

In the silence between your heartbeats hides a summons. Do you hear it?

At the center of your beingness, your being in this world, is you, yourself. There is the r.DSC_0143-1024x685external and the internal calling, and you are at the center. Developing the capacity to listen to both, the external and the internal, is an important skill. This is my work with you.

At every given moment there is an aspect of us that stands on the threshold of a new life, of changing our life, and entering on a new direction. It is our choice to either stay where we are or move forward and cross the threshold present for us.

Each one of us is capable of intuiting what the next step is for us, or what we can do or where we can go. We make it up as we go along, to a certain extent. We need to be open to new possibilities; to living our life in a different, and newer way. Life is dynamic, not static (or at least not for long!). Life is constantly changing and evolving on so many different levels, and in so many different ways.

As we go along in the midst of the changes, we can listen for what we can and need to do to enter into a new life for ourselves. The listening is open to what comes to us from outside, around us, from others. The true listening occurs when we listen to what is going on with us internally, inside of us. The work we do in the sessions is just that: to develop the skill and capacity to listen inside of ourselves. And then to listen even more deeply to our heart, and to that voice within us that is our true self.

This is what I want to do with people: To help people to trust the self that is within in them that is in touch with life, the living, breathing, life we live in. To listen to that breathing, living part of us that is in touch with the greater life that we live in. That is the listening. The more we work with that, the more readily we connect to it, and the more we come to understand and know how true it is for us. And, that our self is a drop of that greater Self.

My experience is that no matter how stuck we get, no matter how down we get, no matter how entrenched we are in our comfort-zones, no matter how difficult and hopeless things get or seem, there is a call inside of us to return to life, to living life again, and to be a part of its movements. Interestingly enough it requires us to be able to be still and listen, and to remain in that stillness. The stillness is a living and dynamic, a breathing, alive, stillness. It begins with a question always and that question, if we stay with it, if we can listen and hear it, leads us to the answer, ultimately.

This is the core of my work with others. This is what I believe is what it is all about. I use and embrace any and all approaches that contribute to that work. All that helps along the way. And the help we need always comes, is present somewhere if, once again, we listen for it. And, then respond.
